Trying to Enjoy Depression
A powerful depression is a hard thing to enjoy. The more you try to be happy the harder it becomes. The only way to take pleasure in depression is to learn from it. Walk, bike, shoot a basketball, weave a scarf, cook, meditate, help the needy and take notes on how each activity affects your mood. Note taking has helped me release many sad feelings. Notes can be recorded with video, paper, audio, or any way that helps you remember the details of your depression. When you become a note taker you can learn from your feelings. The next time sad feelings arise, you’ll be able to stave off the depression quicker. By staying creative with your depression you’ll keep your body and mind moving. It’s the only way to keep it from settling into your life and taking over.
