Try to Start Your Day with a Positive Thought

When the first thought is, “I wonder what the world will help me enjoy today,” you are setting your path for the day to be one of curiosity and joy.

When the first thought is, “Oh, man. Why do I have to wake up?” you are setting your path for the day to be one of negativity and tedious tasks.

When you can set up the day with positive thoughts, you can guide yourself into a day of happiness.

There will be times when a negative thought will pop into your head, especially if you know that the day will be a challenge. However, it’s up to you to make that next thought a positive one, so you can build on its foundation.

Next time you have a self-defeating thought, try counteracting it by thinking of one thing that you will enjoy about the day. This morning my first thought was, “I don’t want to take off the covers.” My next thought was, “I don’t need the warmth when I can hop in the shower and get my day moving right along.” Before I could stop myself, that positive thought got me moving and I was enjoying the cold bathroom tile because I knew the shower was heating up.

Each thought builds upon the next. When you give your mind positive thoughts to build on, you can create a day that is filled with awareness of thick trees with long branches or the calm feeling of your deep breathing.

Great article. It is a fact that we can change the neuro pathways when we feed ouselves the gourmet food of positive verbage. Trust rather than try, allow rather than force are the words I use throughout my day as it flows. Ask what is needed for me to do today. Ask where is your money. Quiet and center yourself and wow (wonder of wonders) you will hear what the answers are. Have a wonderful day everyone

    Hey Brenda,
Changing our neuro pathways isn’t easy, but worth the effort. We do need to “allow instead of force” because we’ll be using love to change our lives. Being gentle with our change will create long lasting improvement instead of pain.

Gentle is a wonderful word to use. After all, we are all precious and worth the t.l.c. we deserve not only from others but ourselves. Make this a special day for yourself.
